The Plan
A Stronger Economy
For too long, Springfield has focused its spotlight on Chicago and the I-55 corridor while the hardworking families from Macomb to Moline have been left to bridge the gap alone. Kermit believes that your zip code shouldn’t determine your opportunity.
The Mission: Redirecting state investment to District 71 to create high-quality jobs, support local small businesses, and ensure our infrastructure reflects the strength of our workforce.
Affordable, Accessible Healthcare
Healthcare is a right, not a luxury. While federal policies like the “Big Ugly Bill” have created funding hurdles for our local clinics, Kermit is ready to fight for Illinois-based solutions.
The Mission: Expanding access to affordable care, protecting rural hospitals from closure, and—most importantly—treating mental health with the same urgency and resources as physical health.
Keeping Our Promise to Veterans
As a 27-year Army veteran, Kermit doesn’t just talk about service; he lived it. He knows the transition from the battlefield to the home front is a journey that no one should take alone.
The Mission: Ensuring every veteran in Western Illinois has streamlined access to the benefits, healthcare, and career resources they earned. Kermit will be the voice in Springfield that never lets our heroes be forgotten.
Investing in the Next Generation: Youth Engagement
We cannot afford to quit on our youth. Drawing on his years of mentorship and work in local schools, Kermit knows that an investment in a child today saves the community a fortune tomorrow.
The Mission: Securing state funding for after-school programs, vocational training, and mentorship initiatives that give our young people a clear path to a productive and promising future right here at home.
